Ya, mixed grammar (atau mixed structure) adalah kesalahan dalam tata bahasa Inggris di mana struktur kalimat tidak konsisten, menyebabkan kebingungan atau makna yang tidak jelas. Kesalahan ini terjadi ketika penulis atau pembicara menggabungkan dua atau lebih pola gramatikal yang berbeda dalam satu kalimat tanpa koordinasi yang tepat.  

Jenis-Jenis Mixed Grammar  

1. Mixed Conditional (Gabungan Kondisional)  

Kondisional biasanya mengikuti pola tertentu (seperti zero, first, second, third conditional), tetapi mixed conditional menggabungkan waktu yang berbeda.  

Contoh kesalahan:  

❌ If I had studied harder, I would have a good job now. (Seharusnya: If I had studied harder, I would have a good job now [mixed] atau If I studied harder, I would have a good job now [second conditional]).  

2. Mixed Construction (Struktur Campuran)  

Kalimat dimulai dengan satu struktur tetapi tiba-tiba berganti ke struktur lain.  

Contoh kesalahan:  

❌ The reason I was late is because the traffic was bad. (Seharusnya: The reason I was late is that the traffic was bad.)  

3. Faulty Predication (Predikat yang Tidak Sesuai)  

Subjek dan predikat tidak cocok secara logis.  

Contoh kesalahan:  

❌ The purpose of the book intends to educate readers. (Seharusnya: The purpose of the book is to educate readers.)  

4. Inconsistent Verb Tenses (Ketidakkonsistenan Waktu Kata Kerja)  

Perubahan waktu kata kerja yang tidak perlu dalam satu kalimat.  

Contoh kesalahan:  

❌ She goes to the store and bought some milk. (Seharusnya: She went to the store and bought some milk.)  

Cara Menghindari Mixed Grammar  

- Periksa konsistensi struktur kalimat.  

- Pastikan subjek dan predikat sesuai.  

- Gunakan tense yang konsisten.  

- Hindari menggabungkan dua pola kalimat berbeda tanpa konjungsi yang tepat.
