A. Expression
of Asking Service
Expression of Asking Service merupakan ungkapan meminta pelayanan (bantuan) kepada seseorang, petugas, karyawan, atau pegawai pada suatu instansi publik atau swasta, seperti restaurant, supermarket, hotel, bank, hospital, dan lain-lain. Karena meminta bantuan/ pelayanan, maka expression of asking service sama dengan expression of asking help or assistance. Berikut ini beberapa contoh ungkapan meminta pelayanan (expression of asking service) yang bisa kita gunakan.

Keterangan:
a)
Untuk
menyampaikan sebuah ungkapan kepada orang lain,
maka kita perlu menyesuaikan pemilihan kata dengan situasi atau kepada
lawan bicara kita, misalnya mengggunakan ungkapan formal (lebih sopan/ resmi)
dan atau ungkapan informal (akrab/antar teman/pergaulan dan tidak resmi).
b)
Question
Word (pertanyaan) yang diawali dengan “May ..., Could ..., Would you mind ...,
& Please” menunjukkan konteks makna yang lebih sopan (formal).

of Offering Service
Expression of Offering Service merupakan ungkapan menawarkan pelayanan (bantuan) kepada seseorang, pelanggan, klien, rekan bisnis, dan lain-lain. Ungkapan ini sangat dibutuhkan jika kita berprofesi sebagai petugas, karyawan, atau pegawai dari sebuah instansi publik atau swasta.
