Ya, modal auxiliary verb adalah kata kerja bantu yang digunakan untuk memberikan makna tambahan pada kata kerja utama, seperti kemungkinan, kemampuan, izin, kewajiban, atau kepastian. Jenis-jenis modal auxiliary verb meliputi can, could, may, might, must, shall, should, will, would, dan ought to. Masing-masing modal ini memiliki fungsi dan tingkat kepastian yang berbeda. Sementara itu, modal auxiliary verb memiliki fungsi utama untuk membantu kata kerja utama dalam membentuk makna yang lebih spesifik tanpa mengubah bentuk kata kerja itu sendiri. Misalnya, may digunakan untuk menyatakan kemungkinan (“It may rain tomorrow”), should untuk saran atau nasihat (“You should see a doctor”), dan might untuk kemungkinan yang lebih rendah (“He might be at the park”). Modal juga dapat menunjukkan tingkat kepastian, misalnya will untuk kepastian di masa depan (“I will help you”) atau would untuk situasi hipotesis (“I would travel if I had enough money”). Modal tidak mengalami perubahan bentuk walaupun subjek berubah dan selalu diikuti oleh kata kerja dasar (bare infinitive).
