Apa keguanaan "will dan be going to" dalam bahasa Inggris?

Simple Future Tense digunakan untuk menyatakan tindakan atau kejadian yang akan terjadi di masa depan. Hal ini digunakan untuk merujuk pada sesuatu yang akan dilakukan atau terjadi pada waktu yang akan datang tanpa adanya keraguan, dugaan, atau kepastian.

Adapun fungsi dari simple future tense yaitu sebagai berikut. 

1. Mengungkapkan rencana, keinginan, atau tujuan di masa depan.

2. Menyatakan prediksi atau harapan tentang suatu kejadian di masa depan.

3. Mengungkapkan janji, komitmen, atau keputusan untuk melakukan sesuatu di masa depan.

Sementara itu, rumus simple future tense dapat dibedakan menjadi 2 yaitu: nominal sentence, dan 

Subject + will/shall + Verb1 (infinitive without "to")

Nominal Sentence

• (+) Subject + will/shall + be + adveb/noun/adjective.
• (-) Subject + will/shall + not + be + adveb/noun/adjective.
• (?) Will/shall + subject + be + adveb/noun/adjective?

• (+) Subject + will/shall + Verb1 (infinitive without "to").

Dalam rumus di atas, kata will/shall dapat digantikan dengan is/are/am going to. "is going to" digunakan untuk subjek: she, he, it, dan singular subject (subjek tunggal). Sedangkan "are going to" digunakan untuk subjek: You, They, We, dan plural subject (subjek jamak). Kemudian, dalam kalimat negatif, "will/shall" dapat digabung dengan "not" menjadi "won't/shan't".

2. Prediksi atau Harapan

- I think it will rain tomorrow.

(Saya pikir akan hujan besok.)

- He believes she will become a famous singer one day.

(Dia yakin dia akan menjadi penyanyi terkenal suatu hari nanti.)

3. Janji atau Komitmen

- I will call you later.

(Saya akan meneleponmu nanti.)

- We shall meet again soon.

(Kita akan bertemu lagi segera.)
